Pelosi: Members of Congress involved in helping the insurrectionists could face legal action

Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, has made it very clear that if anybody in the Capitol – staff or member of Congress – was involved in helping the insurrectionists come to Capitol Hill, learn that way the layout of the Capitol Building. There could possibly be some action taken outside of Capitol Hill. This could mean potentially legal action around criminal liability. She also stated there was going to be a significant investigation about everything that happened on the day.

In related news Democrat impeachment managers are preparing to go to trial against Donald Trump in the Senate. The question now is one on the timing, It has been suggested she could withhold the article of impeachment to delay the senate trial, to give President Biden some time to move forward and get his nominees confirmed to the US Senate,

CNN reports that it’s just not clear what she is thinking about the timing and that she would not provide any sort of timeframe. However, they’re at least preparing for a trial preparing for something to happen.

The Democrats believe that Trump needs to be held accountable and they need to move forward on this charge of an incitement of insurrection. The Democrat’s say Trump is responsible, and if there are other members of Congress involved they are responsible as well.
