Editorial: Do it for Bob – Australia needs Labor

(Opinion) After years of chaos and dysfunction, three Prime Ministers and nutters in the Senate, it is time for stability- Australia needs it.

Bob’s death this week highlights that it is his legacy that is under attack by the right-wing conservatives lead by Scott Morrison. Medicare, the fair go and equal rights for all. His fight against racism, homophobia and sexism. TheCoalition’s one concern is them, not you.

This election is a choice between Labor’s plan to restore penalty rates, or bigger tax loopholes for the top end of town under the Liberals.

If you want a fair go for all Australians – vote Labor.

When Abbott was Prime Minister, he was intent on ending Medicare and the destruction of Australia’s civil society.

When Labor introduced the Medivac Bill and when it was passed Dutton roared that it would allow “murderes and rapists” in, while at the same time he had signed off on two murderes being allowed in.

The chaos and dysfunction of the Coalition has allowed News Corp to continue building its empire to spread propaganda and hate. The Murdoch sycophants employed by News Corp continue to peddle lies, distortions and stupidity. Australians deserve better.

Places like Tasmania now have the highest unemployment rate in the country and 4,200 full time jobs have been lost in the last year. The Liberals just don’t get it.

In seats like Flynn where the cuts to penalty rates, has seen $15.5M cut from local economy and workers’ wages.

When the Prime Minister was was given the chance to finally apologise to voters for the chaos of the past 5 years in order to win back trust – He wouldn’t.

Then there is the inaction on climate change. Simply pu if we don’t take action on climate change now, we’re failing these kids. We’re failing our future.

Only a vote for Labor will end the division and dysfunction we’ve seen from the LNP the last six years.

As Senator Cameron said “The big end of town are determined to protect power and privilege at the expense of everyday Australians. The bulk of the press have backed the Coalition despite disfunction chaos and lack of policy. Send them a message. Kick their Tory lackeys out. Vote ALP for a good society.”

Only a Bill Shorten Labor Government will fight for a fair go for all Australians. We need a real voice for everyday Australians.
