The BBC has reported that the now infamous “Buckingham Palace Meeting” was not about the Queen’s health or the Duke of Edinburgh’s.

Prince Philip’s health is not the topic of today’s meeting

Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and consort of Queen Elizabeth II, is to retire from royal duties in the autumn. Prince Philip has the “full support” of the Queen in deciding to stop public engagements.

Such internal royal meetings usually happen about once a year.
