Wages growth remains at record low for Australians
The Australian Bureau of Statistics has released figures showing that wages are growing at record lows.
The seasonally adjusted Wage Price Index (WPI) rose to just 1.9% through the year to the December quarter 2016.
Private sector wages are rising by only 0.4 per cent and public sector wages by only 0.6 per cent.
Across Australia, Western Australia holds the record for the lowest growth with only 1.4 % and Tasmania the highest with 2.4 %.
