100 people have been injured as a Long Island Rail road train derails at Atlantic terminal in Brooklyn, New York.
The New York Post reports that the commuter train derailed on Track 6 as it pulled into the transit hub about 8:20 a.m., according to officials. Emergency responders are on the scene.
NBC says Passengers described the train pulling into the station, followed by a crash and a loud boom, after which the train’s doors opened. The derailment comes about four months after an NJ Transit train crashed into the Hoboken Terminal in New Jersey, killing a woman on the platform and injuring about 100 other people
LIRR says to anticipate possible delays into and out of Atlantic Terminal due to the derailment at the terminal.
