Queensland now boasts over 426,000 homes with solar energy and is rapidly moving towards the Palaszczuk Government’s 2020 solar target of 3,000 megawatts of installed solar generation capacity. Queensland currently now has more than 1,600 megawatts of installed solar generation capacity.
Minister for Energy, Biofuels and Water Supply Mark Bailey said “We came to government with a clear commitment to renew the state’s uptake of solar energy, which is an important part of achieving our 50 per cent renewable energy target by 2030,”
“Queensland already has one of the highest penetrations of rooftop solar panels in the world, and that solar rooftops combined are the second largest power station in Queensland.”
Mr Bailey said that Queenslanders have an appetite for renewable energy.
