Labor: Turnbull Government Callous And Insensitive on Domestic Violence
The Australian Labor Party has said that the Turnbull Government is callous and insensitive after Senator Cormann said domestic violence leave would ‘cost’ the economy.
Labor’s employment spokesman Brendan O’Connor told ABC’s AM “It’s a terrible indictment on the Government that they’re so insensitive to the needs of victims of domestic violence,”
Mr O’Connor also stated that it is not just the practical support for women to have days when required, Domestic Violence Leave will help destigmatise what has happened so that victims can come forward and that there is institutional support, and is support in the community and in the workplaces.
