Shorten: Greens’ position on penalty rates dangerously naive
Mr Shorten has said that what the Greens are saying about penalty rates is , “Let’s take away from the independent umpire and get the parliament making the decision,”
Mr Shorten once again said that this is giving the Liberals or conservatives in a future Government the power to cut penalty rates “which they don’t currently enjoy.” Commented Mr Shorten
“The truth of the matter is that there’s 61 Liberal MPs and candidates running for public office right now in this election. 61 who have said they want to cut penalty rates.”
Shorten said Labor’s track record is standing up for the award system and Labor doesn’t support the dismantling of the award system.
