QLDLNP Makes A “Strong Choice” With The Election Of “Assets Sales” Nicholls As Leader

In a party room vote this morning, the Queensland LNP elected Tim Nicholls as the leader with Deb Frecklington as his deputy.

Nicholls deposed Springborg 22-19 in the second round of votes.

Mr Nicholls served as the Treasurer of Queensland and the Minister for Trade of that state between March/April 2012 and 14 February 2015 under the Newman Government.

Nicholls, originally a solicitor, began his career as a councilor in the Hamilton ward of the Brisbane City Council, which he held for six years.

Nicholls was the architect and salesman of the LNP’s assets sales plan which saw the defeat of the Newman Government at the last Election
