PNG PM: Manus Detention Centre Will Be Closed 

Prim Minster Peter O’Neill has stated that the detention centre on Manus Island will be closed.  This follows on from the Supreme Court ruling yesterday that declared detaining Asylum Seekers on Manus Island was illegal. 

The Prime Minister of PNG has said they will ask the Australian Government to make alternative arrangements for Asylum Seekers detained on Manus.
