Iceland: Prime Minister Steps Down Over Panama Papers

The Prime Minister of Iceland Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson has stepped down over the Panama Papers and his wife’s owned an offshore firm with claims on the country’s collapsed banks.

Mr Gunnlaugsson had earlier asked the President of Iceland to dissolve Parliament and call for new elections.The Opposition party in Iceland have renewed calls for a snap general election.
