Pope: Mother Teresa to Be Made A Saint

The Pope has announced that he is set to canonise Mother Teresa. The announcement was made while the head of the catholic church was meeting with cardinals. Pope Francis cleared the way for the canonization last year in December.

The canonization is expected to happen in September but the location has not been announced.

Mother Teresa was beatified in 2003 by Pope John Paul the II. Mother Teresa died in 1997 and won a noble peace prize in 1979 for work with the poor and down-trodden, she founded the Missionaries of Charity in the 1950’s in Calcutta. She was born in 1910 in the Ottoman Empire in a part that is now known as Macedonia.
