Islamic State Militants have destroyed the Arch of Triumph in the 2,000-year-old Roman city of Palmyra.
Sources in Palmyra have validated the fact that the Arch of Triumph has been destroyed.
After capturing the ancient city in May 2015, Jihadists blew up temples nd gravesites at the Roman-era UNESCO World Heritage site. The Islamist fanatical group regard the buildings as blasphemous. The city’s guardian, 82-year-old archaeologist Khaled al-Asaad, was tortured and decapitated by the criminal group.
