A gunman has killed at least 10 people and wounded 20 at a community college in the U.S. Pacific Coast state of Oregon, according to a preliminary report from state police.
Thursday’s shooting happened in the Science Building of Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon.
Police say they have apprehended a person whom they believe to be the shooter. It is not yet clear it there was more than one attacker. The area is locked down and people are advised to stay away from the college, which is about 250 kilometers (180 miles) from Oregon’s capital of Portland.
State and county police, as well as detectives, have been investigating, but they have not yet said what the motive was behind the attacks. (VOA-Report)
