Russia Today is reporting that the Russian airforce has attack 8 ISIS targets during 20 combat flights. The Russian airforce also claims that “civilian infrastructure” has been left untouched during the 20 operations.
Igor Konashenkov, spokesperson for the Russian Defence force, has claimed that arms and fuel depots and military equipment were hit. The spokesperson also stated that the attacks took place after air surveillance and intelligence provided by the Syrian army.
Syrian opposition chief Khaled Khoja has stated that in reality Russia is intending not to fight ISIS, but to prolong the life of Syrian President Assad.
