Egyptian President pardons Al Jazeera journalist-Mohamed Fahmy

Reports out of Egypt state that the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi has pardoned Al Jazeera journalist Mohamed Fahmy.

Mr Fahmy had been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment  during the highly politicised trial on trumped up charges of aiding the Now banned Muslim Brotherhood.

Mr Fahmy had recently been resentenced to prison during a retrial of the case which was held in the Cairo. He was being represented by internationally renowned human rights lawyer Amal Clooney.
