Speaking to the media today Queensland opposition leader Annastacia Palaszczuk said that Labor’s focus on the campaign and for government would be to focus on frontline services. Frontline services have been viciously attacked by Campbell Newman.
The health system in Queensland has suffered a lot from the attack on frontline services with such actions as closing the elective surgery theatre at Cairns Base hospital which performs 1000 surgeries a year Cutting supplies of clean pyjamas for patients in Queensland public hospitals.
Another example of attacks on frontline services is the sacking of 24,000 workers and risking essential services that Queenslanders need every day.
Speaking in Mackay Federal Opposition Leader, Bill Shorten, said “Queensland needs a government that will stand up to Tony Abbott … and stand for Queensland.”
Campbell Newman hasn’t stood up to Abbott over health. Newman and Abbott aren’t addressing the major problems in Qld.
Labor Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk also stated today that Tony Abbot and Campbell Newman are cut from the same cloth.
