Clive Palmer Supports Emissions Trading Scheme & Abolition Of Carbon Price In Favour For Lower Prices For Consumers

The leader of the Palmer United Party, Clive Palmer, announced this afternoon that he supports the implementation of an Emission Trading Scheme.

He also announced that he and his party will vote against the abolishing of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, the Renewable Energy Target and the Climate Change Authority. He also stated that he would only support the axing of the Carbon Pricing if he got a guarantee  that costumers received lower pricers.

He said in his announcement in Canberra today “True to our promises to the Australian people at the last election, Palmer United senators will vote in the Senate to abolish the carbon tax, In doing so, Palmer United senators will move an amendment that all producers of energy are required by law, not by choice, to pass on to all consumers of energy the savings from the repeal of the carbon tax.”

He made the announcement with Al Gore by his side. Mr Gore however stated that the axing of the Carbon Price was “not favourable”
