Many have been saying that the Labor party of Australia has not contributed anything to the development of Australia and its economy since 2007. Some would go as far as saying that Labor has broken the country.
Queensland Labor landslide defeat in 2012 was seen by many that Labor has lost it’s way and has been punished for doing nothing. Is this all true?
Granted the Federal Labor Party has changed Prime-ministers twice first from Kevin Rudd to Julia Gillard and than back again. In the grand scheme of things and if we are being honest this isn’t the be-all end-all. The achievements of the Labor party out way the negatives.
Here are some of the achievements of the Labor Party:
Since 2007 to 2013:
- 13% growth in the economy
- 960,000 new jobs
- introduced National Disability Scheme
- $60 billion invested in roads and rail
- Lifted super from 9%-12%
These five achievements, some of the ones with the greatest impact for all of Australia, are just the tip of the iceberg of what Labor has achieved in a very difficult and hostile parliament. The conservative LNP coalition will make substantial cuts that will effect low to middle class Australians and their obsession with national debt is really a distraction from the real issues facing Australia.
