Bo Xilai , ousted Chinese politician, admitted in court on Saturday that he made mistakes in connection with his wife’s murder of a British businessman, but has denied criminal responsbility in the scandal.
Bo was once a rising star in China’s leadership , tipped to be promoted to the Central Government in Beijing, is on trial related to charges of abusing his power.
He is accused of trying to obstruct police investigating the murder in 2011 of Briton Neil Heywood, and also faces bribery charges and corruption charges for allegedly embezzling state funds. Gu Kailai – Bo’s wife, was found guilty of murdering Mr Heywood and is now in prison.
The trial is being held at Jinan Intermediate People’s Court in Shandong province
